What counts as a span?
A span is one step in a trace: a model call, a tool call, or a retrieval. We count spans, not whole traces, so an agent run with five steps counts as five. It's the same unit OpenTelemetry already emits, so what you send is what you're billed on.
What happens if I go over my plan's spans?
Free includes 10k spans a month and can reject ingest after 120% usage. Pro and Team span caps are soft, so paid ingest is not hard-blocked; we keep the data flowing and reach out about a better fit.
How do seats and projects work?
A seat is a member of your organization, and every member sees every project in it. Owners and admins manage API keys and settings. When you need more seats or projects, move up a plan.
Is the Free plan actually free?
Yes, with no credit card. You get 10k spans a month, 7-day retention, one project, and two seats, free for as long as you want. Upgrade only when your volume outgrows it.
How do I start sending traces?
